A custom-built furnace complex designed for cooking plov, shurpa, and other dishes in large quantities. Featuring two 50-liter cauldrons, a grill fireplace with a spit, and an additional cooking area, this project was created for festivals, tournaments, and other large events on the bank of the Siverskyi Donets River.
This project was designed and built by me.
The surrounding space was designed by an artist-designer, while the concept, structural solution, planning, and construction of the furnace complex itself were carried out by me.
This furnace complex was created for cooking plov, shurpa, and other dishes in large quantities during tournaments, festivals, and other large-scale events at a recreation site located on the bank of the Siverskyi Donets River in eastern Ukraine, not far from Kharkiv.
The complex includes a large grill fireplace with a spit for roasting large cuts of meat, two 50-liter cauldrons, and an additional cooking area between them for preparing smaller dishes, fried ingredients, and other accompanying components.
The distinctive feature of these cauldron stoves lies in their special internal design, which provides the proper heating rhythm and gradual cooling process. In addition, the stove has sufficient heat-retaining capacity, allowing the dish to continue gently finishing on soft residual heat for some time after the active cooking phase.
The construction relied mainly on natural materials: fired ceramic brick, refractory firebrick, clay-sand mortar, and a heat-resistant refractory mortar.
In practice, the design proved fully successful: experienced chefs highly appreciated the performance of the stoves, and the complex was capable of serving more than two hundred people.
